It's the annual Holiday Christmas Art Show where the gallery artists will be in a group show. I was honored to be invited as part of the Zion's Bank Annual Art Show once again. The bank does a fabulous job with great artwork, food, live music and beautiful flower arrangements. The evening is a treat for artists and their many guests. This painting that Zion's Bank purchased, is one I did in the North Fields of Midway Utah, looking east, on a beautiful September morning this year.  "Utah Hills" 11 x 14 oil Bank Purchase
I was one of the instructors at Plein Air Utah where I did both inside and outside painting demonstrations for the students. This was a great event with demos, lectures and lots of painting. The Plein Air Painters of Utah, which I am one of, and the Midway Art Association partnered to put this event on.  Painting on the last day of PAU at the art sale.
I painted this one from a photo since we were inside. I was very pleased to receive 2nd place in this competition that included so many fine artists and paintings. The Dixon Country Event is a wonderful few days of talks, presentations, symposiums and painting demonstrations by invited artists. I was part of a symposium this year and gave a talk. The hosts, Paul and Susan Bingham who created the Thunderbird Foundation at Maynard Dixon's Home, are superb at all they have done and continue to do for artists and fine art collectors. I was pleased with the quality of questions asked and the interest in all I said. Thanks for the invitation to be with you that evening.  The Fairview Art Museum in Fairview, Utah is exhibiting a juried art show of paintings depicting Utah's beauty and unique heritage. The Midway Art Association put on a wonderful Plein Air Event that is full of several days of plein air painting. This painting is just one of ten paintings I did. I put this on because it shows the unique Scandinavian Heritage of the Midway, Utah area.
